Expertly crafted content, exceptional value

A key element to safeguarding is to make recruitment as safe as possible. But even if properly applied, no safe recruitment policies can provide 100% protection for vulnerable people.

This course provides learners with an awareness of legislation and Government policy supporting the protection of vulnerable adults and aims to provide learners with the knowledge to:

  • Understand what is meant by the term ‘vulnerable adults’
  • Understand what is meant by abuse
  • Understand their rights under the Public Disclosure Act (1998) (whistleblowing)

And it will provide the underpinning knowledge to enable learners to:

Contribute to and take necessary action to safeguard vulnerable adults

Identify indicators of abuse

Be able to report concerns

Be able to deal with disclosures of abuse and immediate incidents

Know how to access support

Ensure that appropriate documentation is maintained, and write a report of an incident

Course duration

This course will take about 30 minutes to complete

Continuous Professional Development

This is CPD Certified eLearning Course and counts as 30 minutes towards learners' annual CPD total
