Expertly crafted content, exceptional value

Risk is defined as the ‘effect of uncertainty on achieving objectives’, or more simply ‘any chance of loss’ that a business may incur. Risks are theoretical, and will always exist – although firms can manage the impact down, the risk will never go away.

Risks can be categorised into a number of sub-types, and in this risk management series we will explore:

  • Conduct risk
  • Financial risk
  • Operational risk

Conduct risk is broadly defined as any action by a regulated firm or its staff that causes customer detriment, market instability, or disruption to competition. Conduct risk can have a profound impact on a firm, its clients, its staff, and the public, so understanding its sources is crucial to mitigating its consequences.

In this course you will learn about conduct risk, what the FCA’s expectations are in relation to conduct risk, how to meet those expectations, and what happens if conduct risks are not properly managed.

This course has been designed to help people understand conduct risk through real-life case studies and hypothetical examples. Learners will be assessed on their knowledge and understanding through a test at the end of the course.

Adjustments can be made to suit the needs of your company – please contact us for more information.

Course duration: this course should take around 30 minutes to complete.
