Allyship Training Course
Explores allyship by discussing lived experiences
Written in partnership with Coventry University, this course explores allyship by discussing lived experiences.
ELEARNING CONTENT FOR EVERYONE
Expertly crafted content, exceptional value
As society has become more aware of the value and importance of diversity and inclusion in the workplace, the significance of allyship has become increasingly clear. It is a powerful concept that fosters empathy, understanding, and action, creating a foundation for building inclusive communities and dismantling systemic barriers.
Written in partnership with Coventry University, this course explores the importance of allyship by relating the lived experiences of individuals who’ve encountered challenges related to one or more characteristics, such as gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, and race.
Beyond merely sharing these experiences, these individuals share what it would have meant to them to have an ally speak up for them.
This course demonstrates that by recognising one’s privilege and leveraging it to amplify marginalised voices, an ally can play a role in challenging societal inequities and promoting fairness and equality. By actively engaging in allyship, you can not only cultivate meaningful relationships, but also broaden your perspectives, and foster a more inclusive and environment.
In this course, learners will have a good understanding of:
The dimensions of allyship – how we define it
Why we need it
What is privilege and how we can use for good
When is the right time to be an ally
How to challenge discrimination, harassment, and bias
The attributes of an effective ally
The importance of allyship to organisations
