We use these to decide what every screen in each course we make is intended to achieve. What is it that learners need to explain, describe, distinguish or list? Defining these up-front keeps projects on course as we move from initial proposal, to storyboarding and development
Engagement
Page-turning eLearning just doesn’t work. All of our courses are highly interactive, making extensive use of scenarios in particular. Rich media is used as appropriate, from audio-visual resources through to animations and bespoke graphics
Respect for learners
People don’t learn well if they feel they’re being patronised. We let users manage their own learning experience by writing our courses with an honest, direct tone, and providing learners with additional learning resources and open navigational features
Our instructional designer works closely with you to record all the learning outcomes you desire, the content areas to be included and media/interactivity approaches for the course
A complete storyboard is produced in Word and developed with you. This document includes full details of the content and interactions. Several revisions later and we ensure you are fully satisfied with the course content
Our graphic designer produce several mock-up screens utilising your brand guidelines, so you can select a 'look and feel' that fits with your vision for the course
Once the written content and the design elements have been agreed, the course goes into the development phase. Once the alpha build has been completed, you will have an opportunity to assess the course and make minor changes
During this phase, minor tweaks are implemented and the course undergoes a thorough quality assurance (QA) check before the final release is sent to you for sign-off
